Istvan Mucsi, MD, PhD, a transplant nephrologist and clinician investigator at the Ajmera Transplant Centre and Division of Nephrology at the University Health Network (UHN) in Toronto, is our guest speaker. In addition, he is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto.
He studies potentially modifiable factors underlying inequities in the utilization of live donor kidney transplants among patients from racialized communities. The work is in partnership with African, Caribbean and Black, Chinese and South Asian community organizations, patient partners and professionals from those communities. He employs both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
Fadia Jerome-Smith, a founding member of the ACB YouTube Channel on Kidney health programming at the University Health Network (UHN), will share her life-changing story.
