CADHO was established in February 2020/Black History Month with a diverse and dynamic inaugural Board of Directors comprising of Professor Josephine Etowa, Dr Bagnini Kohoun, Ms Jane Odongo and Mr Akalewold Gebremeskel. The organization was conceived on January 4, 2020 during an ACB research knowledge translation event in Barhaven, Ottawa.
This vibrant organization is inspired and challenged by both novice and seasoned community leaders. CADHO inaugural Boards of Director meeting was held on February 15, 2020 and it first general members meeting was held on Thursday February 21, 2020 with African cuisine at the University of Ottawa 451 Smyth Road, Ottawa.
This inaugural meeting was well attended, and lot of ideas were generated for the change to begin.
